The Bahamian government issued a framework for implementing hurricane wind and storm surge modeling in the country that it says will be used for national development planning and investment decisions across the archipelago.

The new framework, released last week, includes technical requirements for probabilistic risk assessment, standardized methodologies across government agencies and private sector organizations, and specific data resolution standards for hazard, exposure, and vulnerability components.
